Celtic Strymon/Trident Coinage:
Thank you for posting this. As soon as I finish a current project I intend to turn my attention to these coins, having a rather good collection of them myself, all overstruck specimens.
Look forward to seeing them, David.
Coins have inscriptions. What is writen on the coins.
Mostly vestiges from the originals.
The ‘strymon’ design occurs on some Gaulish coins of the 1stC BCE – was it copied from a Greek/Macedonian original or does it have some indigenous significance?
If u mean the trident, it comes from the Macedonian original. There is nothing to suggest that it had any particular significance for the Balkan Celts.
